How to make your #Udan22?
How to get here?

We’re thrilled to welcome you to our wedding, and to India if it’s your first time here. To make your journey and travel processes easier, we’ve created this step-by-step guide that could help you.
This is to the best of our knowledge but if you have any other info please let us know - we’ll keep this updated and it will help others as well!
What’s fun is that the Easter holidays begin from April 15th, so we’d recommend that you plan to use those vacations for traveling in India and attend our wedding in the corresponding week!
About your destination:
The wedding is happening in Chandigarh, which is one of the earliest planned modern cities in India during the British period in the foothills of the Himalayas. The closest International Airport is New Delhi (DEL) approx. 250 km away.
Travel from your country to India:
-
Given the changing covid regulations, best is to keep an eye out for information on key entry regulations, which can be found in the pop up of homepage at, https://cgimunich.gov.in/. We will also update you on situation closer to the event.
-
India offers E-visa for tourist purposes to citizens from ~150 countries. You can see the details of eligible countries and the application process in the link (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html). If your passport is not from one of these countries, please let us know. We can prepare an official invitation as per your visa requirement.
Travel from Delhi to Chandigarh:
Recommended ways to reach Chandigarh from Delhi are,
-
Cab: you can take a one-way cab from Delhi Airport to Chandigarh in 40-50 Euros. The journey should take around 5 hrs. Links for some cab service providers are below, you can choose to book the cab 1-2 days in advance to your trip.
-
- Uber intercity: you will see the option for intercity cabs in your Uber app once your location is within India. You can choose it as your one stop solution from international Uber app, however, keep in mind, Uber intercity is usually 80%-100% more expensive than other intercity cab service providers in India.
-
Flight: You can take a domestic flight for Chandigarh (IXC) from Delhi (DEL)
Our recommendation list of hotels:
We will recommend to make refundable hotel bookings for friends arriving from outside India to allow for flexibility in case of any Covid related regulations change. If the hotel website doesn't provide refundable booking option, please checkout travel portals like Booking, Expedia etc. Please see below the list of some hotels in order of increasing distance from the wedding location:
-
Welcomhotel By ITC Hotels, Bella Vista, Panchkula - Chandigarh
-
The LaLiT Chandigarh (best luxury option)
Places to travel: please ask us based on your individual choice and travel timeframe as there is a huge variety from mountains, national parks, historical forts and palaces to nightlife in big cities and beach towns. Checkout links for the list of places specifically at a few hours' drive distance from Chandigarh and Jaipur.
